Since starting “Cheap Lazy Picky Cooks” two years ago, my focus has shifted a bit. I’ve become more and more aware of how difficult it can be to eat gluten-free and vegetarian: to continuously find novel recipes that fit our needs and taste good, and to weave our eating into a complex life with friends and family.
These days, we’re pouring more energy into our food lives, intentionally seeking out experiences we can savor while honoring our ethics and the needs that our individual bodies have. Sodium, chocolate, all forms of gluten, meat and other products from dead animals are all ingredients that we have to keep a close eye on. But it’s my goal that avoidance not ever be the focus of my food life. I don’t want my relationship to food ever be just utilitarian. I always want to remember the sacredness in the sensuousness of a delightful meal.
I have renamed this site, and it is my hope that this can be a resource that makes a joyful, gluten-free, veggie life just a little it easier for someone else.
